Thrawn's ability to be neutral is what saved his life. He should have been careful not to push so many buttons, but all in all this is annoying to me not necessarily something to celebrate. He did canonically survived Vader by a few years and in Legends as well but not by much more. Thrawn's hubris may have seem cheeky but it was annoying to me.
