Ppl say worship at home, but when would they come for home churches? Also the virus hates to go to Walmart, but loves Churches? Really? The Ahmaud Arbery Tragedy: More Than Black & White
KIMMYQUEEN SAYS...
Citizen arrest was ONLY used by prosecutor who is now recused from the case... he said in order to provide cover for ex colleague. This is (also) a case of corruption in the Georgia police department/prosecutor office. They need to clean house, they need to treat each case with equanimity regardless of who is involved. The guy tried to protect the ex cop and son and that should not have been the case, they should have arrested them and booked them, when it wasn't clear why they followed him and only release on bail and gather the facts and then adjudicate. In none of the calls did the ex cop and son stated they were performing a citizen's arrest. In the calls they made it clear that they believe him to be a burglar from PREVIOUS unwitnessed home burglaries and that they were told by a neighbor someone appeared on camera looking inside his house and saw him running and assumed it was him and got their guns and followed. They did not witness ANYTHING themselves other than him running and ASSUMED he was guilty. Citizen's arrest was created primarily for shop keepers and business owners and attendants to apprehend someone they just caught stealing. It wasn't made for random people in random circumstances. That law needs to be simplified and streamlined as no one can detect intent when there is no active action or witness to an actual crime. Running away from someone random who is suspicious of you is a normal reaction. Citizen's arrest should only be made: 1. When you witness a crime or the present commission of an actual crime like stealing, rape, murder, larceny, etc. and got there to prevent it or stop it. Call the cops, etc. Hopefully the person will submit to it, but if they fight you or go for your gun you have a right to defend yourself. But this is after WITNESSING a crime and got there in time to prevent or stop it. 2. When you witness or were told of a crime being done but you were not there in time to prevent or stop it, but the crime continues in the form of a kidnapping or you witness or a credible witness told you that the person is going to kill, rape, steal from (etc) others on their way or at their destination. You can follow and make a citizen's arrest in order to prevent or stop a continuing crime (like a kidnapping) or a current/future crime like terrorism. You have to call the cops to let them know that you are following and for what reason. That is it. You witness something suspicious or you were told of something suspicious call the cops give description and direction and let them take care of it. Do not follow. White people like to follow and they need to stop it. You can't follow someone because of something in the past, or because you assume the person is up to no good.
The video was released by McMichael's in order to prove they did nothing wrong but that backfired. The Mother and her attorney kept accosting the prosecutors to arrest him and his son and it got such high pitched that he released the video to prove it was self defense because Arbery took the gun. The person that took the video has ascertain that he did nothing wrong and that he taped in order to prove that they were just following him in order to ask him questions as to his identity and why he was in the neighborhood as they believed him to be the burglar of PREVIOUS robberies that they did not witness themselves. The attorney seems to want his defense that his client is too stupid to have done anything wrong. It was a weird interview. Also there is a story that the ex cop had previous encounters with Arbery. Also the neighbor says that as far as he can tell nothing was taken from his property and the video does not show an actual robbery. Some people say that something fell from Arbery's clothes, I did not see it. This needs to be adjudicated, but we are all allowed our opinion on this case.
My opinion: The shooters are white and possessive of their neighborhood. It is possible they are racists, maybe yes maybe not but something racial maybe an issue that makes them be on guard against black people. They are aware of burglaries... there maybe video showing the perpetrator of these burglaries it is clear or it is believed to be a black person (I haven't been able to ascertain if this is true). Perhaps they assume the burglar is black. The ex cop was asked by neighbor to just keep an eye on the property while it is being constructed so now he feels himself very responsible and on edge. According to his own voice on the phone with the cops, all that happened was that he say Arbery running really fast and away from the street where there have been previous burglary/construction site. He assumes he is up to no good, gets his gun and son and his gun and gets in the truck, unclear how other neighbor gets involved. They take the guns in case Arbery has a gun, their words. They follow and corral him and ask him to stop to ask him questions (again their words). On the phone with cops they ascertain that they are following him in order to figure if he was involved IN PREVIOUS burglaries. No mention of citizen's arrest or that there was something actual that they witness IN THE PRESENT time. The 911 lady asks them that specifically they said this was an ongoing issue, that they know of video cameras showing burglaries and they think that this is him. They corral him, use their guns to get him to stop... Arbery should not have lunged for the gun, but he had a right to defend himself as these are not cops and as far as we know he hasn't done anything PRESENTLY that was wrong. They shoot him to end the fight. The ex colleague cover for them with citizen arrest claim. The Mother wants justice. He releases the video. He probably asks neighbors to release the videos of the house and street on that day, but as we can see it does not prove wrongdoing on Arbery's side. White people STOP FOLLOWING people. Do you need to start getting shot to stop? Had Arbery had a gun and knew how to use it, perhaps things would have gone down differently. We still haven't seen previous burglaries recordings. They followed because they were suspicious not because they actually witness or were told of an actual crime being committed. That is not citizen's arrest nor should it be.
