So... instead of hiring more human companions in nursing homes... they want more AI... instead of trying to advance human to human relationships they want AI to do that... instead of teaching his daughter what a spider is he spends 8-15 hours a day with a facsimile of his daughter... I can't be the only one questioning this or thinking this is absurd... Why do this? Why do these people want artificial humans for? Why do you need them to have emotions, etc.? Why?

Humans using machines to gather information, etc does not mean that it is natural to progress into having machines be like humans in everyway. It sounds like a march towards wanting to be gods and creating another humanity that we can control. However what happens when we are replaced? Or when they want to exercise their freedoms and rights to self? Why create something that we must be responsible for that in turn can essentially replace us? As we are not gods at all!

You do not need AI to improve ourselves or enhance ourselves and lo and behold the narcissism... What happens when it no longer wants to perform those functions? AI is unnecessary to assist disabled in being able. Then being broken sinful humans the use of AI for perversion is unavoidable. That brings a great deal of ethical questions once AI is able to choose for themselves.
